The Hershel (Hersh) Siebrass collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Siebrass and Chris Rasmussen during the fall of 1988. During the interview, Siebrass discussed the changes that have occurred during his teaching career at Cozad, Nebraska, 1957-1961, and at Mankato West High School in Mankato, Minnesota from 1961 through 1988. He focused on how changes in family structure, technology, and the media affected his role as a teacher. Furthermore, he mentioned how changes in the attitudes of students, parents, and teachers related to the educational process. This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
